Rockland iCare participates with many insurance companies and accepts many different coverages, including traditional plans, PPOs and HMOs. Please inquire about your specific plan when you call our office for an appointment. Be sure to have your insurance information available when you call to make an appointment. Many insurance companies now require pre-authorized referrals for your visit. This information is also required when scheduling your appointment. If you have any questions concerning your coverage, we will be happy to assist you. This will save time when you arrive for your appointment.

Please bring your most current insurance card and pre-authorized referral with you on the day of your visit. Otherwise, you may be asked to pay for your visit in full.

Our participation in your insurance plans does not necessarily mean that your specific insurance plan or coverage will pay for the visit. Each plan is different and we do not know what charges will be covered or what charges your insurance company will tell us to bill you for. You, the insured, will be responsible for payment of any charges not covered by your plan. We will work with you to maximize the coverage your plan provides for you.

Refraction is an exam that is done to determine whether a child is nearsighted, farsighted, or has astigmatism, and whether glasses are necessary or need to be changed. This is an essential part of any eye examination, and it is very important for children of all ages from infancy to adult. Most medical insurance plans will not pay for the refraction. Rockland iCare requires you to pay for this service on the day of your child’s exam when this service is provided.
